The new commander of the 14th Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Brig Gen. O.O. Diya, and the new Director of Department of State Security (DSS), Salami Ajege, have arrived in Abia State to succeed their predecessors.

In addition, Mr. Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, the new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), and Alphonsus Ndupu, the new Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), have succeeded the former heads of the institutions in Abia State.

On behalf of the other departed chiefs, Brig Gen. Nsikak Edet, former Commander of the 14th Brigade, thanked Governor Alex Otti for his assistance in combating instability in the state.

Gen. Edet also praised the collaboration between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in combating insecurity.

Bidding the outgoing security leaders farewell, Abia State Governor Alex Otti ascribed the gains achieved in combating criminal activities in Leru, Umuchieze, and Lokpanta to the committed efforts of the leaving officers and wished them well in their new postings.

He also challenged the incoming security leaders to exceed their predecessors by strengthening security in all areas of the state, offering to assist them in performing effectively.
