According to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the people who caused the sad explosion that occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday ought to be found and dealt with.

The presidential spokeswoman, Ajuri Ngelale, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday.

In order to provide the victims with prompt and all-encompassing help, Tinubu instructed the National Emergency Management Agency, or NEMA, to collaborate with the Oyo State Government.

The President expressed his condolences to the Oyo State government and people, urging all relevant government authorities to investigate the conditions that preceded the tragedy.

“It is worrisome that the cause of the blast is being attributed to the activities of illegal miners. Those behind the inexcusable and reckless behavior that has created the conditions for the sad incident to occur must be fished out and punished,” the President said.

Allub Times reports that governor Seyi Makinde attributed the explosion that occurred on Dejo Oyelese Street in the Bodija area of the city at around 7 p.m. on Tuesday to illegal miners.

The governor has confirmed that two people lost their lives in the incident, while 77 others sustained injuries.
