Popular Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has shared a story from his past, recalling the difficult days he faced as a struggling artist.

He revealed the heartbreaking loss of his father due to financial constraints, as his family couldn’t afford the N70,000 hospital bed space required. Forced to bring his father home, they watched him pass away in their care.

Odumodublvck’s remarks come in response to veteran singer Eedris Abdulkareem’s recent assertion in a podcast interview, where Abdulkareem claimed credit for paving the way for artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido.

The artist emphasized that his hardships shaped his belief that no artist paved the way for his musical success. While he acknowledges being inspired by other rappers, he firmly asserts that no one artist cleared the path for him.

He revealed this via his X handle, “When my father died, my family was poor. We could not pay hospital bed space of 70k [N70,000]. We had to take him home.

“Coming to tell me about paving the way for me? That’s God, brother. No use your ego counter reason my reality, bros.

“I agree say you inspire me. But bros, you pave the way for nobody. Nobody!

“I hate when n*ggas try to play God.”
