Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has announced the drop of Wilfred Ndidi from his final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

The Leicester City midfielder and teammate Kelechi Iheanacho were injured, and it’s been projected that they are not likely to be fit for the tournament in Ivory Coast.

Ndidi missed Monday night’s 4-1 home win against Huddersfield Town, while Iheanacho has missed the Foxes; last two Championship games due to a muscular problem.

Paseiro has replaced Ndidi with Alhassan Yusuf, who plays for Royal Antwerp in the Belgian league, and Iheanacho is also said to be replaced by OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi.

The Eagles have already begun camping in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The majority of the invited players are already hitting the camp, with the likes of Musa, Omeruo, Aribo, Onyeka, Bassey, Aina, Lookman, Boniface, and so on.

All invited players are expected to be in camp this week.
