There was excitement at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) when Minister Nyesom Wike approved the promotion of 8,785 staff.
The Acting Permanent Secretary of FCTA, Udo Samuel Atang, announced this on February 29th.
Atang mentioned that 8,785 employees who took and passed the promotion exam were moved up to the next rank following the Public Service Rules.
“Accordingly, out of the 9,710 Officers that participated in the process, 8,785 were successful and promoted to their next Grade Level,” he said.
Breaking it down, out of 9,710 Officers who participated in the 2023 Examination Exercise across various Secretariats, Departments, and Agencies (SDAs), 925 did not pass.
Additionally, out of the 3,924 eligible Officers from Common Services Departments who took the exam, 3,295 were promoted.
Out of the 933 Professional and Technical Officers who took the exam, 918 were promoted. Additionally, out of the 1,179 Health Officers who participated, 1,144 were also promoted.
As a result, out of the 3,674 Education Officers and Assistant Education Officers who took part in the exercise, 3,428 were promoted.
