Senator Hope Uzodinma has been sworn in for the second time as Governor of Imo State.

The governor was administered the oath of office at about 3:24 p.m. by Justice Theresa Eberechukwu, the Chief Judge of Imo State.

Lady Chinyere Ekomaru was sworn in as the deputy governor of Imo State just minutes before his inauguration.

The event on Monday was attended by thousands of Imo residents and guests from both within and outside the state.

President Bola Tinubu; ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo; the Senate President Godswill Akpabio; the Speaker of the House of Representative Tajudeen Abbas, and other All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains were among those in attendance.

In his speech at the event, Uzodimma made a promise to surpass his achievements in his first term. He expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their support.

Uzodimma referred to the Apostle Paul in the Bible to emphasize his determination to improve Imo. He stated that his second term in office would bring even more progress for the people.

Uzodimma also expressed his appreciation to President Tinubu for attending the event and commended him for consistently supporting both him and the state.
