Following the tragic attacks in Barkin Ladi and Bokkos local government areas of Plateau State, Vice President Kashim Shettima has reassured the affected communities that justice will be vigorously pursued until the victims find solace and safety.
Allub Times reports that more than 155 people were murdered on Christmas Eve by gunmen, with another 300 injured in the attack that has attracted local and global condemnation.
Senator Shettima, representing the President, visited the areas affected by the crisis and expressed deep condolences to the people and government of Plateau State. He expressed profound sorrow over the recent killings that have deeply impacted the region.
His words: “When one community bleeds, the entire nation feels the pain. The pain we feel now transcends ethnicity, religion, geography, or politics. The grief that binds us is a testament to our shared humanity, not differences.”
President Bola Tinubu‘s profound sadness was expressed, as he stated, “This tragedy and shares deeply shake the President in this unspeakable sorrow that has shattered the joy of Christmas across the country.”
The immense pain of burying loved ones was acknowledged, along with the recognition of the unbearable grief faced by the affected communities.
“This tragedy is a funeral for the entire nation. Our hearts bleed alongside yours, our dear brothers and sisters in Bokkos, Barkin-Ladi, and all over Plateau State,” the Vice President added.
