Nwabali Gets Chieftaincy Title In Rivers State

Super Eagles and Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali received a chieftaincy title in Rivers State on Sunday.

The traditional ruler of Mgbede community in Egbema Kingdom, Rivers State, Nzeobi Amida, bestowed the title upon Nwabali.

The title, Ugo Egbema “The Pride of Egbema Kingdom”, was given to Nwabali in recognition of his outstanding performance at the AFCON 2023 African in Cote D’Ivoire.

Nwabali was brought into the team just before the tournament started due to poor performance by Francis Uzoho.

He managed to keep four clean sheets in a row and also made two crucial saves in the penalty shootout victory against South Africa in the semi-finals.

After his impressive showing in Côte d’Ivoire, there have been discussions about a potential move to Europe for Nwabali.

Additionally, South Africa’s top league teams Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are rumored to be interested in signing the talented goalkeeper.
