The construction of the long-awaited Fourth Mainland Bridge in Lagos State is expected to begin by the end of March or April, according to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He made this announcement during a speech at the Lagos West Senatorial District Town Hall Meeting held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Sheraton, Ikeja.

Governor Sanwo-Olu recognized the extensive work that has already been done on the bridge and emphasized the challenge of securing financing for such a large-scale project.

He stressed the need for innovative ways to obtain funds and assured the public that the government is committed to starting construction within the first quarter of the year.

“We’ve done extensive work on the bridge. But we are at the crossroads of where to get the real financing for that kind of project. We’ll need to be very very creative.

“Our commitment is that within this first quarter, meaning that by the end of March or April, we should break grounds to start the construction of the Fourth Mainland Bridge,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated.
