The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has raised the registration costs for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), reflecting a modest rise for both applicants who choose to take the mock exam and those who do not.

UTME candidates who want to take the practice exam will pay N7,700, while those who don’t want to take the mock exam will pay N6,200. Fees were formerly N6,700 with mock and N5,700 without.

The board is scheduled to offer a complete breakdown of these costs when it discloses the registration information on or before January 15, 2024, according to the announcement.

Meanwhile, JAMB has established a registration window for Direct Entry (DE) applicants from February 28 to March 28, 2024. This route permits graduates of advanced diploma programmes or similar degrees to gain admission to postsecondary institutions without having to take the UTME.

Furthermore, the board disclosed that the process of developing profile codes for registration is still underway. It further stated that procedures for generating these numbers will be published closer to the registration opening date of January 15th.

To guarantee a smooth and successful registration process, JAMB highly advised intending candidates to stay up-to-date on official announcements and instructions. This involves reviewing the board’s website and other communication channels for updates on a regular basis.
