the Federal Ministry of Communications Innovation & Digital Economy  recently launched the Young Innovative Builders (YIB) program.

This program is open to tertiary students who can apply for a chance to win a laptop or tablet as they continue to develop their innovations.

A total of 3,256 devices (48 laptops and 40 tablets per state of the federation and the FCT) will be given out. These devices have been allocated by the NCC to support the learning and application of technology in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The Young Innovative Builders program aims to recognize students in tertiary institutions across the country who have completed an Industrial Training Program. This initiative acknowledges the importance of industrial training programs in providing practical experience for applying knowledge.

Criteria For Eligibility

To be eligible for enrollment, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a student in a Nigerian Tertiary Institution enrolled in their first degree.

2. Have designed, developed, built, or deployed an innovative or tech-enabled project/product that utilizes digital technology.

3. Still be a student 3 months after the competition’s end date (December 22nd, 2023).

4. Have completed an Industrial Training Program.
