The former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has denied any involvement with campaign posters suggesting that he is running for the position of national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (c).
The posters were seen in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), particularly around the federal secretariat. They were also displayed on walls and fences near the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
However, Bello personally signed a statement on Tuesday stating that he is not seeking the APC chairmanship seat.
He described the insinuation of his party chairmanship ambition through these posters as false and immature.
The former governor criticized the actions of opposition leaders, troublemakers, and saboteurs who are trying to create confusion within the party.
Bello clarified that the APC is not currently organizing any congresses or conventions, so there is no reason for anyone to distribute posters for party positions.
He urged the public to ignore these false claims and emphasized that he did not authorize anyone to distribute posters on his behalf.
Bello reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and his support for the leadership of the Abdullahi Ganduje-led National Working Committee (NWC).
