Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s former leader, expressed his satisfaction with President Bola Tinubu‘s decision to raise the petrol pump price.

Buhari believes that this move will result in fewer visitors coming to his hometown of Daura in Katsina State.

He shared this sentiment during an event organised by the Katsina Consultative Forum at the Presidential Banquet Hall of Government House in Katsina.

Speaking in Hausa, Buhari explained that since his return to Daura, he has been receiving numerous visitors. However, he was pleased with Tinubu’s fuel price increase, as he anticipated a decrease in these visits.

He also addressed the subject of drug misuse in Katsina State, saying it must be addressed and fought for the sake of current and future generations.

His words: “A nation’s greatness is measured by how it safeguards its people. Our youths represent our valued asset, and protecting their well-being is crucial for our nation’s future.

“We can’t afford to watch as drug abuse dismantles their potential and the country’s future. I urge all of us to unite and act decisively against drug abuse in the state.”
