Former Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder Eden Hazard has confessed he is disappointed that his football career didn’t end in Belgium.

Hazard announced his retirement from the sport last week at the age of 32.

Previously, he had been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer (MLS).

But he has now told Sporza: “There were a lot of rumours about my future, but there was never anything concrete – not even from Union (Saint-Gilloise).

“It was great to see my name appear in connection with several clubs, and I have never played for a Belgian club, so it would have been a great end to my career.”
