Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has boldly claimed credit for rejuvenating the acting career of his veteran colleague, Jim Iyke.
The declaration came during a recent episode of the Trends and Bants podcast, where Maduagwu revisited the controversial stunt he and Iyke orchestrated in 2021.
Reflecting on the incident, which involved a widely circulated video depicting Iyke allegedly assaulting Maduagwu over questions about his wealth source on social media, Maduagwu clarified in 2022 that it was a carefully planned promotional tactic for Iyke’s comeback movie, for which he received a substantial sum of N4.8 million.
During the podcast discussion, Maduagwu underscored the transformative impact of their stunt, particularly on Iyke’s career trajectory. With unwavering confidence, he asserted, “The truth is I revived Jim Iyke’s career with that stunt. Before the skit, were you hearing about Jim Iyke everywhere? I revived his acting career.”
