Tupac To Be Given Posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has awarded Diamond certifications to two of his projects: "All Eyez on Me" and his "Greatest Hits" compilation.

Tupac Amaru Shakur, better known by his stage as 2Pac, will be honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star posthumously.

Tupac will receive his star in the recording category, according to a statement given by the Walk of Fame on Wednesday.

Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, said: “Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet, and revolutionary. This iconic artist has continued to be part of the zeitgeist for decades after his passing and will continue to be an important cultural figure for many years to come.”

Sekyiwa Shakur, the singer’s sister, will accept the award on behalf of the family.

Tupac Shakur was shot and killed by gunfire in 1996.

Tupac Shakur’s life continues to touch and influence popular culture today as one of hip-hop’s most legendary individuals. Much of his life has been used for teaching reasons in colleges and classrooms around the world.
