Nigerian sprint queen Tobi Amusan won the 100m hurdles at the Diamond League in Eugene, Oregon, USA.

Her victory on Sunday was her third in a row in the Diamond League.

Amusan finished in 12.33 seconds, beating off Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quin, who finished in 12.38 seconds.

Kendra Harrison of the United States finished third in the race.

The Nigerian created history in 2021 when she won her first Diamond League Trophy in 12.42 seconds. She then won it in Zurich last year in a timing of 12.29 seconds.

However, the remarkable achievement comes months after the Nigerian was suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unity (AIU) for drug offenses.

She had missed three tests in the previous 12 months, according to the AIU. But, just three days before the 2023 World Athletics Championships, she was absolved of any infractions.

She was unable to retain her title in Budapest, finishing sixth in the final at Hungary’s National Athletics Centre.

Undaunted, the 27-year-old pledged to return “stronger and better”.
