Tinubu, Top Govt Officials Attend Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with other important figures, attended the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration (AFRDC) on Monday.

The significant event is being held at the National Arcade, Eagle Square, Abuja, to pay tribute to the heroes who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Notable dignitaries present at the ceremony include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Kayode Ariwoola.

Also in attendance are Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru, Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, and members of the diplomatic corps were also in attendance.

The service chiefs, led by Gen Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, and heads of other security agencies, were also present at the ceremony.

The main event was the laying of wreaths by President Tinubu, Senator Akpabio, CJN Ariwoola, and other important guests.

President Tinubu then led the dignitaries to sign the register and release the pigeons.

The AFRDC is a yearly event organized by the Ministry of Defence to honor the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for humanity during the First and Second World Wars, the Nigerian Civil War, peace support operations worldwide, and internal security operations.
