President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will return to the country on Tuesday, a day before the Sallah celebrations, barring any last-minute changes.

On Sunday, a source close to the Presidency revealed that the President would spend the Sallah holiday in Lagos, the country’s commercial capital.

An advance team has already been despatched ahead of the President’s arrival, according to the source.

Tinubu wrapped up his official trip to Paris on Friday, where he attended the ‘A New Global Financing Pact’ event sponsored by French President Emmanuel Macron.

The President took use of the summit’s sidelines to meet with fellow heads of state and government, global business leaders, and CEOs of prominent multilateral and development financial institutions from across the world.

He was supposed to return to Abuja on Saturday, but instead traveled to London, United Kingdom, for a brief private visit.

Dele Alake, the presidential communications aide, said on Saturday that Tinubu will return to the country in time for the Eid-el-Kabir festival on Wednesday.

“Tinubu, who was initially scheduled to be back in Abuja on Saturday, will now proceed to London, United Kingdom, for a short private visit,” a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy, read.

Channels Television had reported how Tinubu concluded his official trip to Paris, France, during which he had “an outstanding participation in the summit for ‘A New Global Financing Pact’ hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.”
