Lola Ade-John, the Minister of Tourism, is reportedly being treated in Abuja for severe poisoning of unknown origin.

According to the Peoples Gazette, her family members are concerned that time is running out in their efforts to save her life.

According to the publication, the Minister was transported to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi soon after, showing signs of poisoning.

According to family members, Lola had been at the facility for four days as of Friday morning.

The specifics of what she ingested and how she ingested it could not be determined immediately because sources revealed that she has been on a breathing machine.

However, it was reported that the Minister’s family and the Ministry are at odds on where she should be treated.

According to Gazette, the Ministry’s permanent secretary, Ngozi Onwudike, insisted that the minister not be transferred because the FMC is a public hospital and its services would not incur significant expenditures to the government, a position her family rejected. However, they remained with her since they were unable to obtain finances to transfer her to a private hospital, according to our sources. On Friday morning, the permanent secretary’s phone number did not work.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently appointed and swore in Lola Ade-John as Minister.
