President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, for the annual conference of the Chief of Army Staff.

The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) plane landed at the Air Force Base in Maiduguri at approximately 11:47 am, where a brief military parade was held.

Upon arrival, President Tinubu was welcomed by Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, former Borno governor Ali Modu Sheriff, Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Senator Ali Ndume, and other important figures.

During his visit, the president is also expected to inaugurate 100 buses that have been acquired by the Borno State Government to alleviate the impact of the removal of fuel subsidies on the citizens.

President Tinubu will perform this action shortly after paying respect to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai.

The visit to the North Eastern region is President Tinubu’s first since taking office, and he is attending the Nigerian Army Annual Conference as the Special Guest of Honour.

The Opening Ceremony will include a speech to the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI troops, as stated by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations.

The ceremony will involve an inspection of the ongoing Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Maiduguri and the laying of the foundation stone for Headquarters 7 Division by President Tinubu.
