The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) is calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Sunday Igboho, a prominent figure in the South West. This comes after Igboho made inflammatory statements demanding the expulsion of Fulani cattle breeders from Yoruba land.
In a press release signed by MACBAN’s national president, Baba Othman Ngelzarma, the association described Igboho’s statements as unlawful and similar to treason, as he is advocating for the creation of the Oduduwa nation.
MACBAN is urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and relevant security agencies to swiftly take action against Igboho, pointing to the arrest and detention of Nnamdi Kanu for a similar offense as a precedent.
“We call on the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and relevant security agencies to arrest and prosecute Sunday Igboho for making this unlawful statement that amounts to treason because he is asking for the actualisation of Oduduwa nation.
“His statements are unlawful. If Nnamdi Kanu will be held behind bars for a similar offence, we see no reason why Sunday Igboho will be allowed to go scot-free.
