The Supreme Court has rejected all three appeals to overturn Sheriff Oborevwori’s election as governor of Delta State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Oborevwori, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of the governorship election held on March 18.

However, three parties were dissatisfied with the result and took the matter to court.

Despite Oborevwori’s victories in the tribunal and the appeal court, the parties continued to pursue the case at the Supreme Court.

In the end, the apex court upheld the previous judgments and confirmed Oborevwori’s victory in the Delta governorship.

The court first dismissed Ovie Omo-Agege‘s appeal, as he failed to provide evidence of over-voting and noncompliance with electoral laws.

The court then dismissed the other appeals due to lack of merit and affirmed Oborevwori’s election as governor of Delta State. No costs were awarded, and the judgment was unanimous.
