In a tragic development, Cori Broadus, the daughter of renowned rapper Snoop Dogg and his wife Shante Broadus, has disclosed that she underwent a “severe stroke.”
The 24-year-old shared the distressing news of her medical emergency on her Instagram Story, expressing the emotional turmoil she experienced upon receiving the diagnosis.
“I had a severe stroke this am,” she revealed alongside a photo of herself in a hospital bed. “I started breaking down crying when they told me.”
In a subsequent post, Cori, who is known by her stage name Choc, posted a selfie donning a face mask with the poignant caption, “Like I’m only 24 what did I do in my past to deserve all of this.”
While specific details about her health scare remain undisclosed, it’s noteworthy that Cori has been living with lupus since the tender age of 6.
Lupus, characterized as an autoimmune disease, involves the immune system mistakenly attacking healthy tissues, resulting in inflammation and pain across various bodily organs, including joints, kidneys, skin, blood cells, brain, lungs, and heart. Regrettably, there is currently no cure for this chronic condition.
Considering that lupus can heighten the risk of a stroke and impact multiple organs, Cori’s health challenges are further complicated. The artist has previously been candid about her physical and mental health struggles, acknowledging her enduring battle with sadness and depression.
“I’ve always been sad. I’ve always been depressed. I feel like I’ve been through a lot,” she shared. “I’ve been sick; I am sick. It’s a lot. Body hurting, you’re just in pain, and you’re so young you’re like, ‘What is happening to me? What is going on?’”
Despite the hardships, Cori, engaged to her boyfriend Wayne Duece since November 2022, exhibits resilience in confronting her health journey, emphasizing the importance of open dialogue about the challenges she confronts.
