About 2,484 Benue State employees who were fired by Governor Hyacinth Alia have written to the state government seeking that they be reinstated within 30 days.

They encouraged the state administration to reinstate them so that legal action could be avoided.

The terminated employees indicated in a notice to the Secretary to the Benue State Government, S. E Irabor, that they were lawfully engaged by the State government between December 20, 2022 and March 20, 2023.

They asserted that they were given employment letters, and that they carried out their jobs without any problems or questions.

The impacted workers also urged that their salary and allowances be paid, emphasizing that their employment was legal.

They expressed optimism that the Benue State Government will approve their request for reinstatement rather than dragging the matter through the courts.

Remember that shortly after taking office, Governor Alia fired all civil servants who worked between May 2022 and March 2023.
