Siminalayi Fubara, the embattled Governor of Rivers State, and his estranged godfather, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, are currently meeting in the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Both were drawn to the Villa for the National Police Council meeting, which is now being presided over by President Bola Tinubu.

It is unclear whether the conference, which is attended by various governors, will find a solution to repair the rift between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Wike.

Some of the governors, including Wike and the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, were seen engaging in an aside talk as others exchanged pleasantries before entering a closed door.

Following his disengagement from the NSA, Wike proceeded to shake hands and briefly exchange pleasantries with Governor Fubara.

It is the first time the Rivers State Governor (dressed in a white kaftan) and his estranged Godfather, Wike (also dressed in a white kaftan) have met face to face since their reported feud began.

Visitodell recalls that the issue between Fubara and Wike is alleged to have prompted 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to seek to impeach Governor Fubara, causing turmoil in the state on Monday when the governor’s supporters stormed the assembly building in protest of the plot.
