Everton has officially announced that they will be filing an appeal against their most recent 10-point Premier League deduction, which put them in the relegation zone of England’s top league.

After it was determined that the Toffees had violated the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations, they were docked ten points. As a result, they fell from 14th place in the standings to 19th, level on points with bottom-dwelling Burnley.

Everton has now officially announced that they have filed an appeal against the largest sporting penalty in Premier League history.

The Premier League Commission’s decision to dock Everton Football Club ten points has been appealed, and the Club has filed the appeal with the Chair of the Premier League’s Judicial Panel. A club statement on Friday stated, “An Appeal Board will now be appointed to hear the case.”

The penalty was imposed by an impartial commission, and the case will be heard by an appeal board.

Prior to their match at Goodison Park last weekend against Manchester United, Everton had gone four games without a loss in all competitions. However, they were defeated by the Red Devils 3-0.

The Toffees will now travel to Forest on Saturday night in the late start, followed by back-to-back home matches against Chelsea and Newcastle United before travelling to Burnley on December 16.

According to Premier League regulations, clubs may lose no more than £105 million in three years; however, Everton was discovered to have lost £19.5 million more than was permitted during the relevant time frame.
