Content creator Abdulgafar Ahmad, known as Cute Abiola, recently expressed gratitude to the Nigerian military for its impact on his life.
In November 2021, Cute Abiola, a former Naval officer, faced detention and punishment for breaching the armed forces’ social media policy by posting a video of himself in military uniform online.
Reflecting on his experience in a recent Instagram post, the entertainer shared photos taken during his time in a Navy cell.
Despite the challenges, he acknowledged the humbling effect of his military custody, expressing appreciation for the lessons learned. Captioning the images, he wrote, “30 days inside cell 2021! The military really humbled me. Thank you, Armed Forces. My morale was high. I had a little fun inside the cell at some point.”
In November 2022, Cute Abiola transitioned from the Nigerian Navy to pursue an entertainment career. He explained that his decision to leave was driven by a desire to focus more on his entertainment career. Interestingly, his departure coincided with his appointment as Special Assistant on Creative Industries by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State.
