Paris Saint-Germain is considering Rafael Leao and Victor Osimhen as potential replacements for Kylian Mbappe, who is expected to join Real Madrid in the summer.
La Repubblica reports that the Ligue 1 club has started looking for alternatives to fill the void left by Mbappe’s departure. Real Madrid has been interested in Mbappe for a while, and it seems they will finally secure his services when his contract with PSG ends in June.
According to the report, Leao is expected to be the top choice for the French club as they look for a replacement for their star attacker. However, they will need to pay Milan €175 million (£149m/$189m) to activate Leao’s release clause.
Osimhen, on the other hand, is also rumored to be joining PSG. Despite recently signing a new contract with Napoli, Osimhen has a release clause of €130 million (£111m/$140m) in his agreement with the club.
Both Leao and Osimhen have had decent seasons in Italy, although they haven’t been at their absolute best. Leao, the winger for Milan, has scored six goals and provided nine assists for his club in all competitions. On the other hand, Osimhen, the Nigerian forward, has scored eight goals and contributed three assists in 18 matches.
Luis Enriques’ team, which currently has a comfortable 11-point lead in Ligue 1, will face Real Sociedad in the Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday. Mbappe, a key player for the team, is eager to win the elusive trophy this season and end his time in Paris on a high note.
