Residents of Kalaye Road in the Hayin Banki community of Kaduna North Local Government Area are expressing concern about the increasing number of unfamiliar individuals in their community. These individuals are often seen riding commercial motorcycles in the morning and at night.
A resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, mentioned that these strangers, who appear to be between the ages of 18 and 25, have taken up residence in a building that was recently vacated by a village chieftain.
“Apart from the strange commercial motorcycle operatives, the place is always besieged by a youth group who smoke Indian hemp openly and chant slogans that frightened peace-loving neighbours,” he said.
The resident also stated that they reported the issue to the Village Head, but no significant action has been taken to restore peace and harmony in the area. Despite this, the local vigilante group is doing their best to maintain security in the community.
