Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has stated that his team “is missing something” and that Chelsea should think about making a transfer in January.

On Sunday, Chelsea suffered their first consecutive loss under Pochettino when they were defeated 2-0 by Everton at Goodison Park.

Chelsea now sits 12th in the Premier League after 16 games, 18 points behind leaders Liverpool and 10 above the relegation zone.

This is true even though Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, who oversaw the takeover from Roman Abramovich in May 2022, have spent more than £1 billion on players.

When asked if Chelsea would require more reinforcements in the upcoming month, Pochettino responded, “It’s about improving.” We are discussing evaluations after four or five months—six games.

“We need to score in order to win the game if, despite all of our opportunities, we are unable to do so today.

“We would prefer to occupy a different spot at the table. The team performed admirably against a very challenging team at Everton. Although we were far superior to them, you still have to score.

We must make sure to follow the first half of the season. That is the way things really are. Should we not be getting enough, we might need to move around a bit.

“To see if we can alter this dynamic and perform better in the second half of the season, that is the item to examine with the sporting directors.

“We must act with greater aggression. After that, there will be a thorough evaluation, and we’ll see what we can do when the transfer window opens.

“I don’t say whether I plan to request more or fewer players. The goal is to determine whether perception and reality agree.

“Something is lacking in our situation. We must make our reality better.”
