Nigerian singer Peter Okoye [Mr P] has threatened to sue Polaris and Access banks.

Visitodell recalls that Okoye, a member of the twin musical band, Psquare, complained last year about online scammers using his name to defraud people on the internet.

The musician has been conducting a lottery program, and online scammers have also been using the same moniker to swindle people in his name.

Okoye vented his rage on his Instagram page and his official X handle on Wednesday, questioning why banks would allow someone to register an account in his name without verification.

After posting photos of the banks, the musician threatened to sue them for damages and promised to call out other banks.

He tweeted: “Enough is enough. It’s either an inside job or otherwise. I have a name to protect here and save some of these innocent victims. So get ready for me and my legal team.

“How can @polarisbankltd and @myaccessbank allow someone to open an account in the name of “PETER OKOYE PSQUARE” without valid means of identification, no BVN, no biometrics, no verified address or even utility bill to correspond with the address of the account owner. Now they are using my name to scam innocent people. I’m suing this bank for damages @officialefcc take note.”
