Victor Osimhen, the star forward for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, scored a hat-trick on Wednesday evening to help Napoli secure a win over Sassuolo.

Allub Times reports that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored two goals, while Amir Rrahmani also scored once to defeat Sassuolo 6-1 in the Seria A match.

This victory highlights Napoli’s strong partnership that led to last season’s Serie A title win.

Despite initially falling behind, Napoli managed to come back and secure a comfortable win, reigniting their hopes for European football.

After Amir Rrahmani’s goal just before the 30-minute mark, Osimhen showed his goal-scoring skills by scoring three goals in 16 minutes, spanning both halves of the match.

This impressive performance brings his total goals to five in three matches across all competitions since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Napoli is currently in ninth place, trailing Roma by four points, who are in sixth place in the Europa Conference League standings after their third win of the 2024 season.

Francesco Calzona’s team is currently 26 points behind Inter Milan, who are leading the season and will play against Atalanta today.

This large gap shows the challenges Napoli have faced in trying to defend their league title.

Furthermore, Roma is close to reaching Bologna and the Champions League spots, but they are currently eight points away. They have a crucial match against Juventus at home this weekend.

Sassuolo, now under Emiliano Bigica after Alessio Dionisi was fired on Sunday, fell into the relegation zone after losing six out of seven matches.
