A Nigerian bride named Jessica Okah has She revealed how her pastor asked her to remove her eyelashes during her wedding ceremony, leading to dramatic scenes in church.
According to Punch, Jessica’s story has raised concerns about the enforcement of personal beliefs and preferences in religious ceremonies.
Jessica said that the pastor had expressed his disapproval of her wearing eyelashes before the wedding, but she forgot about the pastor’s request and didn’t think it would be an issue on her wedding day.
However, she was surprised when the pastor brought up the matter right before the ceremony was about to start.
She said, “What would you do if your pastor asked you to remove your lashes in the middle of your wedding ceremony? It was like a movie, but it was happening for real.
“After my husband’s family accepted me, that’s when my pastor realized that he told me the day before that I wasn’t supposed to wear lashes to the wedding ceremony.
“Let me not lie; I didn’t have a problem with it anyway, but truthfully, I forgot.
“He said before the service had to continue, I had to go and remove the lashes.”
