Former President Olusegun Obasanjo claims that Nigeria will be more divided than ever after the 2023 general elections, and that the nation requires healing.

He called for national reconciliation in order to facilitate the necessary healing for national peace and cohesion.

Obasanjo made the remarks on Thursday at the Yaradua Centre in Abuja during a book introduction for ‘The Unending Quest For Reform: An Intellectual Memoir’ by Dr Tunji Olaopa.

The ex-President’s remarks come just two days after Muhammed Sanusi, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), stated that Nigeria is now more split than it was during the civil war that lasted from July 1967 to January 1970.
