Former minister Sadiya Umar-Farouq is expected to continue her questioning on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja.

Umar-Farouq, who previously served as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, is currently under investigation for allegedly laundering N37.1 billion.

She arrived at the Jabi Headquarters of the EFCC at around 10:18 a.m. on Monday to comply with the invitation and provide clarifications on certain matters being investigated by the Commission.

The former minister had a lengthy meeting with the EFCC interrogators. The session on Monday concluded around 10.30 pm, and she was then permitted to go back home.

Sadiya is scheduled to come back on Tuesday to provide additional explanations regarding various matters that the Commission identified during its initial investigations.

In the meantime, Sadiya’s successor, Betta Edu, is also anticipated to visit the EFCC office on Tuesday due to an ongoing investigation into a disbursement scandal.
