Military Remains Committed To Protection Of Lives, Property — CDS Musa

The Chief of Defence Staff urged religious leaders in the country to use their positions to promote the peace and unity required for the country's socioeconomic development.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, says the military is committed to protecting Nigerians’ lives and property regardless of tribe or religion.

According to him, “The military is nonpartisan and apolitical and will do everything possible to protect the territorial integrity of the country from external aggression.”

General Musa stated that the purpose of his visit to the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs leadership at the National Mosque in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, was to strengthen the relationship between the Nigerian armed forces and religious leaders across the country.

He assured, “The Military remains committed to the protection of the lives and property of Nigerians irrespective of tribe or religion.”

The Chief of Defence Staff urged religious leaders in the country to use their positions to promote the peace and unity required for the country’s socioeconomic development.

According to Gen. Musa, development in all aspects of life in the country can only be realized through peace and togetherness.

Sheikh Professor Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari, Chief Imam of the Central Mosque, and other Imams in attendance thanked the military Chief for his visit and assured him that they would continue to promote peace in their sermons and would do everything possible to ensure the maintenance of peace and unity among all Nigerians.
