Mason Mount scored his first goal for Manchester United in the fifth minute of stoppage time, only for Kristoffer Ajer to equalize for Brentford in the eighth minute in a thrilling end to a chaotic game.

Brentford are now one point closer to avoiding relegation, while Manchester United’s chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League are looking slim.

United started slightly better but failed to create any real threats, allowing Brentford to dominate and miss several scoring opportunities, including Ivan Toney hitting the post after getting past Victor Lindelof.

Despite whatever Erik ten Hag said to his players during halftime, it didn’t have the desired effect as Brentford kept dominating the game. They hit the woodwork twice more and missed several other opportunities.

United seemed to take advantage of this when Mount scored a goal after being set up by Casemiro.

However, Toney made a fantastic play, skillfully controlling the ball and outmaneuvering the United defense to assist Ajer in scoring a well-deserved equalizer.
