Erling Haaland came off the bench to help Premier League champions Manchester City secure a 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
This victory brought City within one point of league leaders Arsenal. Haaland, who came on for Jack Grealish in the second half, scored his 21st goal of the season after receiving a pass from Kevin De Bruyne.
Josko Gvardiol had opened the scoring for City with a header from a De Bruyne corner in the first half. With Arsenal winning earlier in the day, City now sit just one point behind them in the title race, with Arsenal having played one more game and accumulated 80 points from 35 matches.
Manchester City have four upcoming matches against Wolves (at home), Fulham (away), Tottenham (away), and West Ham (at home). If they win all these matches, they will secure their 10th league title. They are striving to be the first team to win four consecutive English league titles.
However, they faced tough competition from Forest, who struggled to score due to missed opportunities by Chris Wood and Murillo hitting the crossbar.
Despite this, Nuno Espírito Santos’ team is currently in fourth place, just one point above the relegation zone, but they can take encouragement from their recent performance in their fight to avoid relegation.
