Lamidi Apapa, the self-acclaimed National Chairman of the Labour Party, has honored his promise to return to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal after his failed attempt on Monday.

According to Channels Television, Apapa was noticed sitting near the back of the courtroom, rather than the place reserved for Labour Party representatives, when the tribunal started hearings on Friday.

Peter Obi, the party’s presidential contender, was also present.

This follows his brief appearance before the tribunal two days ago, when he sought to take the seat of one of the LP leaders.

Some party members, however, resisted him, resulting in a yelling confrontation.

As the two camps brought representation, the tribunal refused to hear the LP’s case.

Justice Haruna Tsamani stated that if two people appear for the party, their appearance would not be recorded.

The tribunal adjorned the pre-hearing proceedings till today.

While being led out of the courtroom, Apapa was greeted with boos and jeers from members of the party loyal to the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure.
