Dozens of women protesting recent deaths in Plateau State have set fire to the home of Michal Monday Adanchi, the District Head of Bokkos town in Bokkos Local Government Area.

The event happened at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 5, according to a source.

According to a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the ladies destroyed the house after certain members of the community were arrested for their apparent participation in recent homicides in the region.

The traditional ruler’s palace and administrative office, he claims, were destroyed by fire.

“The incident began at the police station, where they expressed their anger over the arrest of some members of the community,” the source said.

“After leaving the police station, they proceeded to the house of the traditional ruler, protesting that he was a sellout. A few minutes after reaching the house, they set it ablaze.”
