Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Willie Obiano, the former governor of Anambra State.

Obiano is facing nine charges related to money laundering to the tune of 4 billion Naira.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had accused Obiano of being involved in a N4 billion fraud.

As part of the bail conditions, Obiano is required to stay in Abuja, and his travel documents have been deposited with the court registrar.

The registrar has also been instructed to inform the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to prevent Obiano from leaving the country.
