Kolawole Rasaq Ilori, popularly known as Kollington Ayinla, has debunked rumors surrounding his demise.

Earlier reports on Tuesday speculated about Ayinla’s critical health condition, citing undisclosed ailments.

In an official statement from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on Tuesday, the 75-year-old music icon addressed concerns about his health, confirming that he is indeed alive.

Ayinla expressed his appreciation for the support received during his recent illness, particularly thanking Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Furthermore, the fuji legend extended gratitude to LASUTH’s Chief Medical Director (CMD), Adetokunbo Fabanwo, and the entire hospital management for their exceptional care and treatment.

In his words, “I want to thank Lagosians. I want to thank the government of Lagos State, the management of the State University Teaching Hospital, and its leader, Adetokunbo O. Fabanwo.”

Acknowledging the efforts made on his behalf, Ayinla added, “It is only God that can save life, but I want to appreciate him and the team because I would have gone to the great beyond. I give it to LASUTH. They are king for taking care of me. They deserve my salutations. LASUTH LASUTH LASUTH, you are king. They said I was dead, but I’m here speaking alive from the LASUTH now.”
