Olusola Oke, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ondo, has urged the people of the state to continue praying for ill Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and to disregard satanic speculations of death.

Akeredolu, currently on medical leave, delegated authority to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to serve as governor until he returned.

However, rumors on social media claimed that the Ondo state top executive had died, but the governor’s aides denied this, insisting that Akeredolu is still alive.

Meanwhile, in a statement headlined “Stop this satanic verse” made Thursday, Oke branded the different claims concerning the governor as satanic and asked those behind them to cease spreading the rumors.

His words:

“The orchestrated rumour of the death of Governor Akeredolu by some political profiteers has become a grave concern to me and men and women of good conscience in Ondo state.

“In the past, I have ignored the tune as a mere political adventure, but the latest version of the wicked woven rumours from their mill is satanic and totally inhuman.”
