Tottenham supporters were seen departing St. James’ Park after the visitors suffered a disastrous start to their top-four matchup with five goals in the first 10 minutes. To the pleasure of the Newcastle faithful, braces from Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak, as well as Joelinton’s finish, caused spectators to leave the stadium quickly.

Hugo Lloris failed to divert Joelinton’s shot away from danger, and the visitors were eliminated after just 61 seconds thanks to Murphy’s tapped rebound. The Brazilian then snuck in behind Pedro Porro to score a quick double.

After nine minutes, Murphy added a long-range goal as Newcastle lead 3-0, prompting the departure of the visiting supporters back to north London. Things only got worse when Isak netted two more.

Chris Waddle, a former winger for Tottenham, observed that fans were departing St. James’ Park as soon as social media users shared footage of their departures. How effective has Newcastle been since the game? told BBC 5 Live, Waddle.

“I’ve already seen some Tottenham fans leaving. This is not acceptable from Spurs but give Newcastle credit, they’ve come out, asked questions and got their reward.

“I don’t know what to say now. Newcastle have been brilliant and I don’t want to take anything away from their performance but Tottenham are a shambles. It’s literally embarrassing. When you get rid of your manager and your assistant plays the same way, then it isn’t going to change.”

Alan Smith, a former Arsenal striker who now works as a Sky Sports analyst, was unable to believe what he was seeing when Spurs surrendered right in front of him.

“It is difficult to believe what we’re seeing,” Smith said as Isak notched Newcastle’s fifth. “Hugo Lloris beaten easily yet again. Tottenham have imploded, they have totally lost it. What does Harry Kane think about this? My word, there aren’t many games that pan out like this. I cannot remember one between two teams so close in the league and one so totally outclassed.

“It’s incredible to watch. Nobody ever gets tight in a Tottenham shirt and again, for Hugo Lloris to be beaten from that angle, it shouldn’t happen. As well as Isak hits it, it shouldn’t happen. My word. What does this game finish up as? 5-0 after 20 minutes.”
