Rasmus Hojlund has confidently stated that he never felt concerned about his slow start at Manchester United.

He has now scored in four consecutive games, including the recent 3-0 victory over West Ham. This impressive streak of goals has come at a crucial moment for United, as they strive to regain their position as top-four contenders in the Premier League.

“It has always been there, I have always believed in myself, it has just been about getting the rhythm going. You get one goal, then two and get a bit of momentum and start linking up with the players,” Hojlund told Sky Sports. “I spoke with my team-mates and manager because we need to make each other better, that is what it is about. I want to be involved as much as possible. “I also worked a lot on myself, I looked at my game and what I could improve. I think I have developed a lot since I’ve been here.”

Hojlund reveled in the admiration of the Old Trafford fans by using his leg as a makeshift guitar to celebrate his most recent score. In response to a question on the significance of the latest move, he said: “When I was with my friends in the summer, they told me I should do it and I hadn’t done it. He [my friend] reminded me, we had this short spell when I was in Denmark, and he reminded me I should do it. It stuck with me and I just thought I would give it a chance.”

Hojlund faced criticism for not scoring in the Premier League during his first four months with United, especially considering the hefty £72m ($90m) price tag they paid to sign him from Atalanta. However, he has been on a hot streak lately, scoring the winning goal against Aston Villa on December 26, as well as goals against Tottenham, Newport County, and now West Ham.

Højlund has now become the youngest player to score in four consecutive Premier League appearances for United, a record that not even Cristiano Ronaldo achieved before turning 21 during his time at Old Trafford.

Hojlund will aim to continue his impressive scoring streak and make it five goals in as many games when United visit Aston Villa next Sunday. The Red Devils have climbed up to sixth place in the league, trailing fourth-placed Aston Villa by eight points.
