Unidentified gunmen allegedly killed a suspected married couple and left their bodies in the trunk of their car.
The victims were found by passersby in a remote area along the Tempo Junction, Umunya axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, early on Wednesday.
A video circulating on social media shows a dark Toyota Corolla with open doors, surrounded by onlookers.
The dripping from under the car’s trunk suggests that the victims were recently killed. The Anambra State Police Command‘s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident to Punch.
He stated that police officers from the Oyi Division discovered the two lifeless bodies and the abandoned car and took the bodies to a mortuary.
The police also found some expended cartridges at the scene.
Preliminary information suggests that the man and woman displayed signs of violence and gunshot wounds.
Investigations are currently being conducted to uncover the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
