Finidi George Talks Tough Ahead Of Mali Friendly

Published:

Interim Super Eagles head coach Finidi George expressed his desire to win against Mali in their upcoming friendly match during this international break.

Last Friday, the ex-Ajax winger led Nigeria to a 2-1 victory over Ghana in his first game in charge.

Despite facing challenges such as missing players like Calvin Bassey and Frank Onyeka due to injuries, Finidi remains optimistic ahead of the match on Tuesday night.

“We cannot at this time be dwelling on the injuries and absences that we have to cope with.

“Our intention has always been to win these two matches and then look forward to the World Cup qualifiers in June.

“We are determined to keep up the momentum and sustain the winning mentality derived from beating the Black Stars,” he told nff.com.
