The federal government has issued a warning about unapproved internet venues in the country for applications for palliative distribution.
Doris Uzoka-Anite, Minister of Trade, Industry, and Investment, indicated this in a notification signed by her on Monday.
According to the Minister, some approved online portals claim affiliation with the Presidential Palliative Programmes and charge consumers for palliative distribution.
She underlined that these channels require participants to spend specified amounts in order to apply for palliatives.
The Minister urged Nigerians to disregard such venues, noting that the only verifiable platform for palliative measures is that which the government has authorised.
She said, “It has come to my notice that unauthorized platforms are falsely claiming association with the Presidential Palliative Programmes. I, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, Honourable Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, urgently advise Nigerians to utilize only the official portal, fedgrantandloan.gov.ng, for authentic updates and applications.
“Protect your information. Avoid unauthorized channels. Rely solely on the verified website for accurate details regarding these vital initiatives.
“Also, do not pay anyone to process applications. It’s free.”
Previously, the federal government stated its plan to begin disbursing N50,000 to nanofirms in all 774 local government areas throughout the country as part of measures to mitigate the impact of subsidies on small enterprises.
Ms Doris Uzok-Anite, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, made the announcement in a statement signed by her.
She further mentioned that the initiative includes the Presidential Conditional Grant initiative and the Presidential Palliative Loan Program, both of which are aimed at manufacturers, SMEs, MSMEs, and companies.
The statement read, “In the Presidential Conditional Grant Programme, the Federal Government will disburse a grant sum of N50,000 to nano businesses across the 774 local government areas.
“The Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria will collaborate with state and local governments, federal legislators, federal ministers, banks and other stakeholders.”
