Crystal Palace started their first game without Roy Hodgson with a 1-1 draw against Everton. Substitute Amadou Onana scored a late equalizer for Everton.

Ray Lewington and Paddy McCarthy managed the team at Goodison Park, while Oliver Glasner, the newly appointed coach, watched from the stands.

Palace almost won the game after Jordan Ayew scored a great goal in the second half.

Despite a mostly uneventful game with few notable chances, the goal scored by Onana for Everton in the final minutes brought some excitement.

Sean Dyche, the manager, may feel his team deserved to win, especially considering the missed opportunities by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

This result moves Everton out of the relegation zone, just above Luton Town on goal difference. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, now sits in 15th place, five points clear of relegation.
